Welcome to Mission Dolores School, where we have been preparing generations of young people to take their place as leaders of the community for over 100 years.
With our roots in historic Mission Dolores, we draw from a long tradition to equip our students to meet the challenges of today. As you walk through our beautiful tile hallways you are reminded of our Spanish mission legacy and when you peek into our classrooms you will see students being prepared for the 21st century.

A highly qualified and dedicated staff delivers an excellent academic curriculum based on the California State Standards. In addition to a solid core curriculum, our students in Grades 6 through 8 have access to foreign language class and monthly studio art classes. Our sixth grade class participates in a week long outdoor education program at CYO’s Camp Armstrong facility. Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum and has been expanded with the availability of interactive whiteboards for students from Grades 4 through 8. Catapult Educational Services provide additional support in a small group setting for students in need of the additional services.
We partner with the San Francisco Opera Guild, the Symphony and the Good Tiding Foundation to connect our students with the rich cultural offerings of San Francisco
At Mission Dolores School we believe education is a process that includes every dimension of a student’s life: spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, cultural, and physical. Extra-curricular programs such as Academic Decathlon, Choir, Boys’ Scouts, the Literary Journal ,Student Council and CYO Athletics offer students more opportunities for growth. Our Extended Care program provides homework help and coordinates with the athletic program to insure that our athletes can balance practice with study time.
As a Catholic institution, we are committed to promoting a deep sense of the dignity and uniqueness of every person and an appreciation and respect for all people. Our families come from a wide variety of cultural and economic backgrounds that reflect the diversity and energy of San Francisco. We celebrate the richness of our diversity in our academic curriculum as well as through social and religious activities.
Our school community is a family and like a family we are committed to giving our students the spiritual, social and academic tools they will need to be productive members of society.
