Mission Dolores School provides a challenging, comprehensive, and relevant curriculum for each student that fulfills the school’s philosophy and mission, strengthens Catholic identity, and results in achievement of the student learning expectations.
Mission Dolores School utilizes both the Archdiocesan guidelines and the California State Standards to design curriculum. The emphasis is on the education of the whole person, fostering spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional development.
The curriculum builds upon a continuum of learning that has as its foundation the core academic subjects. In recognition of the diversity of learning styles, teachers strive to create differentiated classrooms where student readiness, interest, and learning profiles are addressed as often as possible with the intent of maximizing student growth, motivation and efficiency of learning.
The consistent growth of standardized test scores and our students high acceptance rate in competitive Catholic, independent and academic public high schools are measures of our academic success.
The Mission Dolores faculty is comprised of dedicated and highly trained individuals.
Sixty percent of the professional staff hold advanced degrees. All of the teachers take advantage of professional development opportunities. The entire teaching staff meets monthly in professional learning communities comprised of colleagues from seven different schools who teach the same grade level or subject. They focus their discussions on improving student learning and they share ideas as well as provide mentoring and support for each other.
