Science Fair
One important way to understand how science really is an integral part of life, is the application of that knowledge in our Jr. High Science Fairs. Our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students work hard every year on science projects that help them use and strengthen their scientific knowledge and develop higher levels of planning and thinking. 
Through the use of the scientific method, Mission Dolores students develop much needed problem solving and analytical skills. The interdisciplinary role of science is also important, as students not only learn and apply their knowledge of science, but also grow in their reading, writing, math, and communication skills. Teamwork also plays a critical role as our students learn to work together to create and present their projects. The projects and science fairs also show the school community and our students the importance of science and its application to the real world.
