Featured Alumna: Elizabeth Toomer, Class of 1997
 
 

Elizabeth Toomer, Class of 1997, continued her education at St. Ignatius College Preparatory and University of Southern California. She currently resides in Brussels, the headquarters for her medical anthropological research in Cameroon and Burkina Faso. In a slide presentation for for the Junior High students at Mission Dolores School, she described her experience living in Cameroon while studying debilitating disease, Buruli's Ulcer.

Her next assignment is to observe the effect of malaria on people in Burkina Faso.

 
Featured Alumnus: Robert Leung, Class of 1996
 
  Robert Leung, Class of 1996, continued his education at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory. After graduating high school, he Marquette University, a Jesuit university in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In four years he completed a triple major in Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, and Theology. He continued his education at the University of San Francisco, graduating with a Masters of Science degree in Chemistry.

Mission Dolores graduates participate in World Youth Day 2006
 
During the summer of 2006, members of the Mission Dolores Youth Ministry Program participated with millions of Roman Catholics from around the world in greeting Pope Benedict XVI at the World Youth Day Conference in Köln, Germany. Guided by Youth Ministry Director, Ms. Maria Uribe, they traveled to France, Italy, and Spain, as well as to Germany. Mission Dolores School alumni who participated included Eric Bravo (2004), George Bravo (2002), Antony Estandian (1999), Melissa Suncin (2001), Michael Suncin (1999), Gustavo Torres (2002), Andreas Uribe (1993), and Elisa Uribe (1993). The group has already started planning for the next World Youth Day to be held in Sydney, Australia, 2008. Anyone interested in joining, may e-mail the youth group at mdyg@missiondolores.org .
 
Gustavo Torres, who shared these photos, graduated from Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory School in 2007. He has worked summers for Nancy Pelosi and is still very active in the Mission Dolores Parish. He is currently a student at Catholic University of America in Washington D.C.

Antony Estandian, known to all as "T.J", who served as an Americorp Volunteer here at Mission Dolores School, is currently attending City College while both coaching and working in the After School Care Program at the school.
